Leche flan is one of the delicious desserts I have known since young. I may say that this is the best among all desserts and once you have tasted it feels heavenly. Of course, this is well known to all Filipinos as we served this in all occasion especially Christmas and New Year’s eve.
The egg is one of the most important ingredients in this dish. After using the 4 egg whites with my Special Puto with Cheese dish, the remaining 4 egg yolks is perfectly for this dish, Leche Flan.
It was influenced by the Spanish regime. Leche flan is derived from custard dessert, a milk-egg based dessert that is cook by steam using an oval-shaped aluminum container or we call it llanera. You noticed that I didn’t use llanera but instead I used the aluminum Puto mold for the reason that it is convenient for the guest and to avoid leftover, especially when serving in any occasion or party.
